Queen i'm in Love With My Car Roger Taylor "i'm in Love with My Car" is amongst Roger Taylor's most famous songs in the Queen catalogue. The song was initially taken as a joke by Brian May, who thought that Taylor was not serious when he heard a demo recording. Taylor played the guitars in the original demo, but were later re-recorded by May on his Red Special. The lead vocals and the majority of the harmonies were sung by Roger Taylor, with istance from Freddie Mercury and Brian May in the verbal harmonies of the second chorus. The revving sounds at the conclusion of the song were recorded by Taylor's then current car, an Alfa Romeo. The lyrics were inspired by one of the band's roadies, Johnathan Harris, whose Triumph TR4 was evidently the "love of his life". The song is dedicated to him, the album says: "Dedicated to Johnathan Harris, boy racer to the end". When it came down to releasing the album's first single, Taylor was so fond of his song that he urged Mercury (author of the first single, "Bohemian Rhapsody") to allow it to be the B-side and reportedly locked himself in a cupboard until Mercury agreed. This decision would later become the cause of much internal friction in the band, in that while it was only the B-side, it generated an equal amount of publishing royalties for Taylor as the main single did for Mercury. The song was often played live during the '77-'81 period, again for the Queen + Paul Rodgers tour in 2005 and the Rock the Cosmos Tour in 2008. Taylor sang it from the drums while Mercury played piano and provided backing vocals. This is a Jacob Black and Bella Swan Story =D Today was a normal day for me. School day went by painfully and slowly while i waited to be with Jacob. i started feeling for him, Not just as friends but.. i... i love him. Not just like friends. But true love. As soon as school got out, i seen Jacob waiting at my truck. i yelled "Jacob!" i was so high pitched that i could have shrieked. On our way home it was pretty quiet, But as soon as we pulled up to my house, he kissed me. it wasnt cold like it was with edward, My lips burned from his kiss, it was firey. Once he finally pulled away i went to look out the window and it was fogged up.. Jacob told me to wait a moment and i did. He got out and got to my side of the car and opened the door. He picked me up bridal style and carried me to the door of my house. Charlie stood in the doorway, his hand on his gun. i was in too much shock to move, so i stayed seated on the counter, my fingers practically setting on fire as they layed on Jacob's chest. He was the first to speak. "Charlie, i..." "Don't wanna hear it, son. You know i like yah, Jake. But this here's my daughter. And it's my job to protect her from teenage boys with the wrong idea..." Charlie's voice trailed off. "Dad, c'mon. He wasn't aulting me. You see, Jake and i are sort of, official now." i didn't want to say boyfriend, it felt silly to use such a simple term to describe our relationship. "Oh, i didn't realize you two felt that way. Or that Bella did, at least." Charlie looked uncomfortable. "Would you mind givin' us a minute, Jake?" Whatever Charlie was about to say, Jacob would hear it no matter where he was. Sometimes i forgot he turned into a giant wolf. The thought made me laugh. i didn't see the point of having him leave, but he obeyed Charlie. "Bells, i don't know if this is such a great idea. i know Jacob is a great kid..." -he struggled for the right words- "normal, but it might be a little rude to loose him like this." i felt like i'd just been slapped in the face. Of course this is what it must look like. That i was using Jacob to make me feel whole inside. And part of that was true, but the majority was because i loved him. "Dad," i said, my tone a little too sharp, "i'm not using Jake. i, well, i love him. it's a lot more complicated that it looks." Charlie hated talking about feelings, so he grunted and left the room. i breathed a sigh of releif. When i heard ESPN on in the other room, Jacob walked in. "From now on, you're coming to my house after school." he laughed, and tucked my hair behind my ear.
