My "Lidmotor CFL Table Candle with Power Module charging" replication. i get the secondary circuit up to 39 Volts in the capacitors. i used 0,22 uF 50 Volt KDPU 2,54 MM and ELKO RADiAL LOW ESR 105° 100µ 50V caps. i did not get 1N34 germanium diodes, so i used 1N60s (DO-7) instead. Non-rechargable batteries don`t seem to be chargeable using this method though like in other radiant charger set-ups (Have to confirm that)

That may be true in theory, but not practice, as we will see in our next story. Many people who go to the Chinese Communist Party to petition and redress wrongdoing end up being ignored, beaten, or jailed. Here's a story about a group of petitioners from Sichuan Province who experienced just that. STORY: On the morning of November 18 petitioners from Sichuan Province went to the People's Congress in the city of Chengdu. The reason to alert officials that their homes had been wrongfully demolished. The town the petitioners come from and their first names have not been used, in order to protect their identities. Ms. Huang is one of the petitioners. She says about ten people were beaten and detained by the police for making their peaceful appeal. [Ms. Huang, Petitioner]:(quote1, female): "Dozens of policemen came out of several police cars. They beat us and pulled us into the police cars. A policeman with the number of 007822 even sprayed poison in my eyes. Even now my left eye is still swollen. More than ten people were beaten and detained. They detained us, grabbed our cameras, and exposed the film inside." Ms. Huang says they came to petition because their houses were torn down without their consent. She says local businesses colluded with officials. [Ms. Huang, Petitioner]:(quote2, female): "We used to have beautiful homes. And now we're in an even worse situation because we tried to protect our legal rights. Our houses were bought by our forefathers through their hard work." Another petitioner named Ms. Li says that some of the petitioners were frightened by the police and left. Those who refused to leave were detained at the Naijiadian Primary School. ANCHOR it's been over three weeks since NTD's satellite broadcast to China and Asia was cut off. NTD's Satellite provider Eutelsat blamed the interruption on technical difficulties, but the timing and tense history between NTD, Eutelsat, and the Chinese communist regime has led some to suspect the difficulties are more than technical. Recently, European Parliament Member Erik Meijer urged the European Commission to pressure Eutelsat to restore NTD's broadcast as soon as possible. Meijer recently told the European Commission that the incident "...coincidently enough happens on the eve before the Olympic Games start." He also asked the European commission "to remind Eutelsat of it's commitment to pluralism, non-discrimination, and the global free flow of information and ideas, and to also remind Eutelsat to not give in due to pressure from China and pure economic interests."
